‘Events Are Transitory, Video Gives Us A Permanent Record’ - Film Adds Value To Sustainable Investment Event

Video can provide a permanent record of an event and offer a quick, effective way to communicate high-quality information on a specific subject, as the organisers of the recent Sustainable Investment Bootcamp found.

The whole event was filmed by Birmingham-based Be Inspired Films, who then edited the footage into an inspirational – and permanent – snapshot of the day.

Timed to coincide with the run-up to National Ethical Investment Week in October, Blue & Green Tomorrow hosted the Sustainable Investment Bootcamp at Lincoln’s Inn in London, aimed at explaining the facts and dispelling the myths of sustainable and responsible investment (SRI).

“Sustainable, socially responsible and ethical investment is growing but one of the inhibitors to growth is accurate information about the sector,” explains Simon Leadbetter, Founder and Publisher of Blue & Green Tomorrow.

“We held the bootcamp to connect sceptical and interested advisers with the thought leaders, fund managers and advisers who understand the space and can dispel some of the myths while extolling its virtues with evidence and real world examples. The issue is not demand for this type of investment, but the supply of well-informed, accurate advice.”

The full day of expert seminars was captured by Birmingham-based video producer Be Inspired Films, providing additional value to the bootcamp and extending its reach.

“Any event is limited to the venue’s location and capacity, the number of people who say they will attend and then those who actually do,” says Leadbetter. “By recording the bootcamp we will be able to provide those who attended and those who couldn’t with the opportunity to see its content, over and over again.

“It also allowed us to go back through the content and pick out particularly useful remarks and insight. Events are transitory; the video gives us a permanent record.”

Blue & Green Tomorrow will use the short video to promote the bootcamp and future events, showcasing ‘the essential DNA of a truly remarkable event’, as Leadbetter states.

Leadbetter first met Be Inspired Films at a CSR event arranged by Responsible 100 earlier this year and was impressed by the team’s professionalism, the quality of the finished output and its social mission, making the two organisations a perfect fit.

“We love having the opportunity to help spread great ideas, ideas that have the potential to make a positive difference to the world,” says Ravinol Chambers, Founder of Be Inspired Films.

“Inspiring and educating IFAs to be able to offer better advice on social investment through the Sustainable Investment Bootcamp matches well with our ethos. We created a promo video to capture the key messages of the day and a series of videos of the talks for those that want to engage with the content more deeply.”

In addition to producing complete videos and animation for social purpose organisations and CSR projects, Be Inspired Films offers a live streaming service to transmit events live over the internet, expanding the reach of any marketing or educational event to a global audience. It also provides affordable video training to SMEs and charities.
