Video as a Powerful Fundraising Tool
LET’S FACE IT, IT’S A TOUGH TIME TO BE FUNDRAISING AT THE MOMENT. THERE’S A GLOBAL RECESSION, AND INCREASING COMPETITION FROM ALL SIDES.
People tend to give more when they feel an emotional connection with the cause and when they feel their money will make a real and lasting difference. The challenge is how to give people this experience effectively at scale.
Video is an incredibly powerful way to emotionally connect the donor to the beneficiaries of their funds, showing how their contribution is helping change lives on the ground. It can help simplify your message and communicate it more effectively than the written word. Plus a good video can be used for a many years across many marketing strategies from websites to emails to social media and broadcast, making it an efficient and far reaching medium.
This Spring we helped Impetus - The Private Equity Foundation create a short video for their annual fundraising ball. It was shot in a documentary style and tells the story of one of the young people whose lives has been turned around through the work they support.
The video was an integral part of the evening and really brought their work to life. By the end of the night they had raised a record breaking £1.1 million and the video played a big part in moving people to give.
